Group Chats, Cold Brew, and the Four People Who Save Me From Myself

There's a version of my life that exists on your screen, and then there's the version that exists in a group chat named "DO NOT POST THAT." The second one is where the real magic happens — or more accurately, where the real preventing happens.
I've been asked a thousand times how I keep up with everything. The honest answer? I don't. My team does. And since they've agreed (some more reluctantly than others) to be written about, I figured it was finally time you met them.
Dana, My Manager, Who Has Never Once Panicked Out Loud
Dana has the emotional regulation of a therapist and the scheduling powers of a small government agency. She's the one who says "let's circle back" when I say "I want to launch a podcast, a merch line, and a cooking series all in the same week."
The wildest thing about Dana is what she says no to. You never see the deals that fall through, the brand requests that would've made you cringe, the appearances that would've eaten my whole month. She's a bouncer for my calendar, and she's never once made me feel bad for being too much.
Her most legendary move: during my biggest meltdown of last year, she didn't send a pep talk. She sent a pizza order confirmation and the words "eat first, spiral after." I think about that constantly.
Marcus, the Editor Who Has Seen Things
Marcus edits everything I make, which means he has watched hours of footage of me mid-sneeze, mid-rant, and mid-existential-crisis. He once told me, deadpan, that he's "seen every emotion a human face can make, usually in the same clip."
Here's what nobody tells you about editors: they're also secret storytellers. Half the time when a video of mine actually lands, it's because Marcus rearranged the whole thing in a way I never saw coming. He'll cut a joke I loved, keep a pause I didn't even notice, and somehow the final piece feels more like me than my own raw footage did.
His never-before-told story: the infamous blooper reel from my first big shoot that he has sworn to delete at least six times and has absolutely not deleted. I've seen it. It exists. Marcus, if you're reading this — I know where you keep the drive.
Priya, Best Friend and Videographer, a Two-in-One Deal
Priya was my best friend before she was ever behind my camera, and somehow doing both jobs made her better at each one. She's the person who can tell me "that take was garbage" and "you're amazing" in the same breath and make both feel true.
When you watch my content and think "she looks comfortable," that's Priya. That's eleven years of friendship showing up as a camera angle that doesn't make me look like a hostage. She knows when to keep rolling and when to lower the camera and just be a friend, and honestly, that second skill is the rarer one.
Fun fact: she's the only person on the team allowed to say "no" to my face. Dana says it via email. Marcus says it via edits. Priya just looks at me. It's devastating. It works every time.
The Group Chat That Shall Not Be Named
And then there's the chat itself. Four people, one shared mission: catching my worst ideas before they reach you.
Some greatest hits of ideas that died in that chat: the 4 AM livestream concept, the "what if I review gas station snacks in a tuxedo" series (this one still hurts, it was going to be art), and a caption so unhinged that Priya replied with a single phone call instead of a text.
The chat also catches the good stuff. When I doubt a post, they're the poll. When I'm spiraling about a comment section, they're the reality check. Every creator needs a room where they're not a brand — just a person with a phone and questionable judgment.
Why I'm Telling You All This
Because the "one-woman show" myth is tired, and because these people deserve the credit. My name goes on the work, but it never gets there alone. If my life looks like chaos that somehow functions, it's because four people with strong opinions and stronger coffee have made it their problem too.
So here's to Dana, Marcus, Priya, and the chat that keeps saving me from myself. You've seen the highlights. Now you know the squad behind them.
Drop a comment telling the crew hi — I promise they read them. Marcus will pretend he doesn't. He does.
